SOCRI twelve WHITE is a balanced plant complex for lightening spots on the skin and rendering skin tone and complexion more uniform.
Melanin production is induced by both exogenous factors (UV radiation, pollution, harsh cosmetic products, etc.) and endogenous factors (diet, metabolic products, etc.). It is created as a skin defence as a result of inflammatory states. In order to ensure that the lightening and balancing activity on the complexion is efficacious, we must take action to inhibit the process of melanogenesis (the outcome) and, prior to that, we must prevent the inflammatory state that triggers it.

Thanks to its composition, based on a blend of extracts each with its own unique composition and activity, SOCRI twelve WHITE inhibits Melanogenesis on a variety of levels: enzymatic, metabolic, and mechanical.
The inflammatory cascade:

  • Initial alteration of the tissue (tissue damage)
  • Vasodilation and increased blood vessel permeability
  • Plasma and blood cell exudation
  • Proliferation of local or infiltrated cells
  • Melanogenesis stimulation and consequent increase in melanin


Niacinamide (from yeast fermentation): alleviates acne and improves the skin's barrier functions, prevents photo immunosuppression and UV radiation-induced photocarcinogenesis, reduces reddening, and efficaciously and visibly blocks melanin from appearing by inhibiting the melanosome transfer process.

Sophora Japonica Extract (extract of dried flowers): rich in rutin, an active substance capable of protecting the capillaries and decreasing their permeability. This allows improved tissue oxygenation and, simultaneously, the satisfactory removal of metabolic waste. The accumulation of metabolic waste in different regions of our bodies, whether due to age, reduced vascular return or other reasons, can become a harmful cause of inflammatory states which, by stimulating MMPs, can trigger melanogenic phenomena.

Acetyl Glucosamine (from fungal fermentation): stimulates chondrocyte metabolism, has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects and inhibits melanogenesis.

Morus Alba Bark Extract (white mulberry): is a powerful antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and melanogenesis inhibitor. It reduces the amount of melanin produced in melanocytes by 30%.

Pyrus Malus (apple) Fruit Extract: extremely rich in antioxidant and anti-inflammatory polyphenols. Furthermore, it inhibits the synthesis of tyrosinase (a key enzyme for melanin production).

Camellia Japonica Leaf Extract (camellia): has antioxidant and brightening effects.

Centella Asiatica Extract (madecassoside is its most active component): inhibits melanin production, is a cicatrizant and anti-inflammatory, and lessens the appearance of wrinkles by stimulating collagen synthesis.

Undaria Pinnatifida Extract: removes excess pigmentation through the activity of ethyl acetate, which inhibits the Tyrosinase enzyme. Furthermore, the presence of amino acids enables cell regeneration and the restoration of the hydrolipidic film, which increases the skin's barrier function.

Calluna Vulgaris Extract: contains arbutin, arbutase and catechol, active substances that inhibit Melanogenesis by interfering with and blocking the activity of the Tyrosinase Enzyme. Proanthocyanidins have an anti-inflammatory effect.

Glycyrrhyza Glabra Extract: has an anti-inflammatory effect, with effects comparable to those of cortisone. Beta-glycyrrhetinic acid is actually able to interface with those same specific receptors, triggering a similar reaction. It is, furthermore, an excellent Melanogenesis inhibitor, acting on the Tyrosinase enzyme during the phases in which it is involved.

Galactoarabinan (Oxalis Triangularis Extract): is capable of inhibiting melanin synthesis by blocking the activation of cAMP (cyclic adenosine monophosphate) while also accelerating tyrosinase degradation.

Ergosterol (extract of the Matsutake mushroom): suppresses B16 melanoma growth by up to 40%.

  • Brightening activity: in vitro and in vivo studies have shown that SOCRI twelve WHITE is a powerful inhibitor of the transfer of melanosomes from the melanocytes to the keratinocytes, lightening skin colour and reducing melanin spots.
  • Anti-eczema activity: SOCRI twelve WHITE is able to drastically reduce the release of eotaxin, which is responsible for the manifestation of eczema, in a dose-dependent fashion.
  • Anti-wrinkle activity: SOCRI twelve WHITE promotes collagen synthesis through the proliferation of fibroblasts (+14%).



SOCRI twelve WHITE can be used as an active cosmetic ingredient in products such as soaps, cleansers, lotions, creams, etc. which are intended to perform a general sort of brightening activity, but also in products that aim to treat melanin spots, dyschromias, and ephelides.
The recommended percentage of use ranges from 1% to 10% depending on the type of formulation to be developed. As a rule, a 3% concentration is used. Creams containing SOCRI twelve WHITE are generally used 1 or 2 times per day. SOCRI twelve WHITE is a concentrated active ingredient in powder form and is completely hydrosoluble. We recommend adding SOCRI twelve WHITE at a temperature of less than 45°C, during the cooling phase.
With regard to the clinical safety evaluation of SOCRI twelve WHITE, patch testing found the product to be safe and non-irritating at a 2% concentration.
